Free Inquiry Post 1 – Introduction
Hey everyone! My Free Inquiry project will be centred around sewing. In specific, I want to learn how to make a puff quilt by the end of this course, as it is meant to be a Christmas present for a loved one. I thought this would be a fitting activity to undertake for my Free Inquiry project as I have very little experience with sewing, so I will be documenting the very real process of how making my quilt goes, and I have always wanted to see if sewing is something I could become passionate about.
Throughout the semester I am going to set a weekly goal for myself when it comes to the progress of my quilt, document the difficulties I face as someone with no sewing experience, as well as discuss the triumphs as I attempt to create something gift-able before the holidays.
Some questions I am hoping to answer for myself are as follows:
- How will sewing the quilt by hand change the experience in comparison to using a sewing machine?
- Will I be able to finish my quilt in the timeline I have set for myself?
- How will my plan develop along the way?
As for my current status is completing this project, I have ordered my fabrics and sewing materials and am just waiting for them to come in to get started! I am very excited to start this project and keep everyone posted along the way.
